Microscopy Characteristics

McKennaii spores are ellipsoid, dark purplish-brown to near-black in deposit, measuring approximately 8–9 x 5.5–6 micrometres. The most distinctive feature from a morphological standpoint is its fruiting body structure: stems frequently display a twisted, contorted growth pattern uncommon among cubensis varieties. Caps are convex to broadly convex, light to medium brown, often with a slight wavy margin at maturity.

Storage & Handling
