Amazonian Spore Syringe

$12.00

A tropical Psilocybe cubensis strain originally distributed by Pacifica Exotica Spora, collected from the Amazon rainforest region. Amazonian produces some of the densest spore deposits in the cubensis catalog — spores are ellipsoid, 9–12 x 6–8 µm, with a single syringe yielding 25–35 slides.

The Amazonian — also known as PES Amazonian — is a tropical Psilocybe cubensis strain originally isolated and distributed by Pacifica Exotica Spora (PES). Among tropical cubensis genetics, Amazonian stands out for its sheer robustness: thick, dense stems, large broad caps, and an aggressive growth profile that translates directly into prolific spore production.

Microscopy Characteristics

Amazonian spores are large and ellipsoid, measuring approximately 9–12 x 6–8 micrometres — on the upper end of the cubensis size range. Spore color is dark purplish-brown to deep violet-brown. Spore output is exceptional: one of the heaviest spore droppers in the cubensis family, producing dense, dark prints with radial symmetry. A single 10cc syringe yields approximately 25–35 microscope slides.

Strain Background

Amazonian traces its documented history to Pacifica Exotica Spora, which operated in the 1990s and early 2000s. The strain reportedly originated from the Amazon basin and has been continuously maintained for over 25 years. Equatorial-origin cubensis strains tend to exhibit more aggressive characteristics — faster colonization, larger fruiting bodies, heavier spore production — making Amazonian a useful comparison point for studying how geographic origin correlates with morphological traits.

Storage & Handling

Store at 2–8°C (35–46°F) in a dark location. Do not freeze. Viable for 6–12 months when properly refrigerated. Shake gently before use to redistribute settled spore material.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Amazonian compare to Golden Teacher under the microscope?
Amazonian spores are noticeably larger (9–12 x 6–8 µm vs 8–9 x 5–6 for Golden Teacher). The size difference is visible at standard magnification. Amazonian also produces denser spore deposits and has thicker stem structures.

What does PES Amazonian mean?
PES stands for Pacifica Exotica Spora, the spore vendor that first isolated and distributed this strain in the 1990s. PES Amazonian and Amazonian refer to the same strain.
