Trinity Spore Swab

$30.00

One of the most sought-after cubensis mutations in the mycology community — and one of the hardest to study through conventional means. Trinity’s limited spore output restricts it to swab format only. Spores are ellipsoid, 8.5–10.5 x 6–7.5 µm, with the swab also providing gill tissue fragments for dual-purpose research.

Trinity is one of the most sought-after cubensis mutations in the mycology community — and one of the hardest to study through conventional means. A distinctively unusual strain with genetics that limit its natural spore output, Trinity is available almost exclusively in swab format. The swab captures spore material directly from the gill surface, making it the only practical way to distribute and study this strain’s microscopy characteristics.

Swab Characteristics & Microscopy

The Trinity spore swab contains spore material and gill tissue collected directly from the spore-producing surface of mature fruiting bodies. Spore material from Trinity swabs includes both free spores and tissue fragments. Under magnification, spores are ellipsoid, dark purplish-brown, approximately 8.5–10.5 x 6–7.5 micrometres. Cell walls are moderately thick to thick, with a visible germ pore. Trinity’s microscopy interest extends beyond individual spores — gill tissue fragments can be examined at lower magnification (40x–100x) to study cellular structure. This makes Trinity swabs a dual-purpose research tool.

Strain Background

Trinity’s specific origin and breeding history are subject to various claims within the mycology community, with its exact lineage not definitively established in public documentation. The strain gained significant attention in the late 2010s and early 2020s as community interest in rare mutations grew. Trinity represents the category of cubensis genetics that exist specifically because of the swab format.

What’s Included

  • 1x sterile cotton-tipped spore swab — Psilocybe cubensis Trinity spore material collected directly from gill surface
  • Individually sealed in sterile packaging

Prepared in our Canadian cleanroom under 99.99% HEPA-filtered laminar flow. The sterile swab is touched directly to healthy gill tissue and sealed immediately.

Storage & Handling

Store the Trinity spores swab in a cool, dark, dry place. Viability is approximately 3–6 months. Refrigeration is ideal but not required. Keep sealed until ready to prepare slides.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Trinity only available as a spore swab?
Trinity is a limited spore producer — its fruiting bodies do not release enough spores for reliable syringe or print production. Swabs collect material by directly touching the gill surface, capturing spores and tissue that would otherwise be unavailable.

How many slides can I prepare from one Trinity swab?
A single swab typically provides enough material for 5–10 microscope slides, depending on how much material you release per slide. This is lower than the 20–30 slides from a syringe, which is expected for swab-format strains.
